Hardware (from the review)
Front bumper / sensors for obstacles. Mopping tray at the back. Dust bowl under a plastic lid. Top buttons: power, return home, locate. Underside brush + mop pad.
Motor claim he read: up to 8,000 Pa; day-to-day closer to 3,000–5,000 Pa. Dust box is small — he empties after essentially every full-home clean. He wished for a bigger self-empty bin but stayed in budget.
Technician did initial setup free of charge.
App and software
Quick map / multi-map. He remapped about twice in three months when furniture moved. Suction, mop vibration, passes, rooms vs zones, schedules. Carpet boost. Child lock. Auto-resume after charging.
Google Home (and Alexa in the cons list): basically start/stop — not room-level voice. Schedules work better in the app. Same Ecovacs account on a second phone struggled to see the vacuum.
Mopping
Not traditional mopping — a gentle wet scrub. Water tank about 200 ml — refill more than once for a whole house. Pad does not collect dirty water into a clean tank like a premium mop station.
Cleaning and navigation
Strong on dust vs broom; good allergy angle; still finds dust after a maid visit. Fine on marble and firm carpets with anti-skid. Soft / loose mats and long hair / paper / plastic can tangle or stop it — clear big debris first.
Boundary then crisscross; optional two passes. Can climb low raised legs it does not sense and get stuck. Bigger raised surfaces it avoids better.
Pros and cons (his list)
Pros: suction, battery enough for one full cycle of his home, ₹1,500 kit cadence feels fine, reaches nooks, parents ask for it even after the maid.
Cons: small dust box and water tank; hair/paper tangles; loose carpets and some elevations; limited voice assistants; multi-phone account quirk; uneasy when a toddler chases a ~₹30k gadget (never hurt her, his words).
Verdict
Worth it if you can spend around ₹30,000 as an add-on even with help, or you are done with broom / handheld vacuum — and you are honest about mopping expectations and carpets. Not fully set-and-forget if the furniture keeps moving.
