LG, best known as the king of the OLED TVs is now all set to come up with a new line of televisions at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that will be held virtually in 2021. The brand will be revealing new-gen television, the QNED Mini LED TVs which is strongly predicted to be the next big thing in the television industry as it will be the first consumer-centric range of mini-LED TVs from the South Korean tech giants which will be made available in various sizes and resolutions of up to 86 inches and 8K, respectively with 30,000 LEDs as the backlight producing a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1
To enhance the viewing experience of the audience, these QNED combines the mini-LED backlighting, quantum dot technology, and its Nano cell technology into one for better contrast, color, and brightness.
Don’t confuse this Mini LED with Micro LED technology, Micro LEDs don’t use a backlight to light their display, whereas Mini LEDs use many small LEDs, up to 30,000 that the QNED is equipped with.
LG claims that the TV range will support refresh rates up to 120Hz from smooth and motion rendering, have up to 2,500 local dimming zones, and support HDR video playback and its QNED Mini LED TV vary will be put between its OLED flagship and its NanoCells price point and a total of 10 variants will be introduced in the QNED TV range.
“Our new QNED Mini LED series is a premium home entertainment option that expands and improves the LCD TV space and gives consumers another terrific viewing choice. These TVs deliver an experience that set them apart from other LCD TVs and speak to our commitment to innovation and pushing the standard forward.”
